Racing against the sun to take food photos is stressful (I only had about 10 minutes from setup to sundown)! 😂 But it’s too hot to bake in my apartment the rest of the year, so I’ll just have to make do with the sunlight I’ve got haha.
I’ve been trying to work on my photography/lighting composition skills, and I thought food photography was a good way to practice, esp since I’ll have so many subjects to practice with lol (I’m going to slowly start practicing portraits with friends as well though).
These 蛋挞 (dan ta/egg tarts) were made using the recipe from @eatchofood‘s new cookbook, Mooncakes & Milk Bread. I was surprised at how easy they were to make, and I really appreciate how Kristina makes a point of using easier to find ingredients in the recipes! I didn’t have the traditional dishes to bake these in so they ended up a bit bigger than usual (but baked just fine I think!)
I also finally managed to get an egg tart dish by @chutbi.ceramics, and had to include it in the shot haha. Coordinating dish was made by my friend Melissa (who sells ceramics in her shop Fish and Eye Studios). ♡
