Going into my holiday break I knew I wanted to sew something. This dress was perfect because:
- I’ve been wanting to sew something nice for myself! It’s been over a year since I’ve made a fancy piece of clothing (not counting the 4 hour fairie costume or altering my wedding dress haha)
- I’ve been wanting to try out one of the sewing patterns from Manon Marguerite’s Patreon. They’re all so lovely and I”m glad I finally made time to try one out. 🙂
- I’ve been craving a Selkie dress, but can’t justify spending the money on one when I know I sew something similar myself (that’s also a bit more washable)

The pattern I used was the Sylph Puff Sleeve Dress, which I got through Manon Marguerite’s Strawberry Skies Design Patreon. It’s now available for purchase directly through her web shop.
This was the first time I’ve followed a video for a sewing pattern – it was fun seeing her process like that!

I’m pretty sure both the velvet fabric and lining are both from @voguandcode (she passed on a bunch of fabric to me when we had lunch last year). 🙂
Both of them stretch, which made for a super comfy dress haha.
