first post-covid sew

Posted on January 14, 2023 by szmoon

Finally sharing this flannel shirt I sewed in october! After getting covid this past summer and dealing with the aftermath, I realized that sewing surprisingly takes a lot of both mental and physical energy. So with this shirt, I intentionally paced myself and only worked on a small section each day (vs trying to power through the entire thing in a day or two like I used to do haha).

I had some leftover flannel sitting around and just couldn’t get the idea of a colorblocked shirt out of my head. But of course, I ended up not being satisfied with the colors I already had (white and a minty-teal), and ended up getting the pink/teal/yellow you see here from joanns. 😅 (I had almost bought fabric dye so that I could use the white and mint fabrics I already had, but at the last second/in the checkout aisle decided that that would take too much energy, and told myself it was okay to buy the fabric pre-dyed lol). ♡

This was made using McCall’s M8210 pattern, size 8 (although could’ve probably gone down one or two sizes since it’s so roomy).
