This is the first adult cross stitch kit I’ve ever done, and also the last adult cross stitch kit I’ll ever do. I got this kit in February 2016, and probably started it not too long after that. And I only just completed it a couple weeks ago (so it took just about 8 years). 🥴
I’m so glad I did it though haha. I found this kit because I used to search “vintage computer” on ebay for fun, sometimes with other keywords like “fabric” and “sewing”, but also probably often just sorting from low to high on the generic search. As soon as I saw this kit, I knew I had to get it – it immediately reminded me of my grandma on my dad’s side. She shared her love of Harry Potter with me, and also many of my memories of her were coming back to our house on a sunday after going to the “computer show” with my dad. She was always really high tech, and I think that’s so cool.
I’ve now learned that I absolutely do not have the patience for cross stitch. I hate having outstanding projects, and although I know I’ll always have something unfinished, I’ve learned that cross stitch will inevitably be one that takes me a very, very long time. It was mainly because we took that road trip back to Illinois over the summer, that I had the will and free time to get it close to the finish line. And then having another holiday season unable to hang out with others gave me the push to finally sit down and finish the rest.
Anyway, I’m really happy to finally be able to see it hanging in my room now, to remind me of grandma and make me smile. 🧙🏻🖥️

Below are the photos I took on February 25, 2016 after I got the kit in the mail:

And this is what it looked like after I’d finished. ♡

I love how well it goes with my Magic-af print by GDBEE Art. 💖
