The book I ordered arrived (I got this copy off ebay for a good price), so I followed the instructions for basic strokes in the book rather than the youtube video I used last time.
The book is really nice! It has everything I’d hoped for – instructions for:
- Basic, individual strokes
- Simple characters
- More complex characters
- 4 character phraes
It was a bit of a challenge trying to follow a new set of instructions so soon after learning from the video last time. I found myself trying to combine the styles and instructions of both, which ended up pretty confusing.
I personally feel like my practice ended up “uglier” this time than the first time, but I’m also trying to remind myself that that’s okay! It’s practice, and just part of the process.
I’m still having a lot of trouble with dots – they’re so hard!!
