4 hour faerie costume

Yesterday I challenged myself to create and shoot a faerie costume before sundown. I started at 3pm with a dress I got a few years ago from Michelle, and took the final photos in our courtyard before sundown at 7:30pm.

Before this weekend, I hadn’t sewn since February when I altered my wedding dress. This project was.. really refreshing. It felt like the sketchbook version of sewing, where I didn’t feel the need to be too precious with what I was doing, and was able to just enjoy the process of putting something together. I didn’t have the pressure I usually put on myself when I’m making a gift for someone, or a piece of clothing to sell.

I also really missed playing dress-up, and this really helped my mood a bit.
